But in recent years i noticed instead of getting 3 or 4 games (maybe a couple more if i add some cheap indie or old classic games) now I only get 2, maybe 3 if i go for some indie games or old classics. I noticed this because i usually give myself a budget for the sales and then look for games i want to buy. But by comparison, in sales now i get to buy half the number of games i usually bought before. You might say is not much, it's still a good sale, I won't disagree. Which means a 75% discount amounts to 15$ instead of the old 10$ or lower.
I noticed a trend that started a few years ago.īefore, in the good ol'days, games a couple of years after being released dropped to 30$ or 40$ as standard price, which made sales of 50%, 75% or 80% have incredible value.īut now that steam and PC games became incredibly mainstream, I see the games keeping their launch prices ad eternum.
